As Technical Sales Support Engineer reporting to our Technical Sales Support Manager, your key responsibility will be to design and cost technical solutions in response to customer-driven
enquiries and support the Business Unit teams with product development. As well representing Arqiva as the technical representative to customers and on design policy, you’ll also be responsible for scoping and translating customer requirements into cost-effective system designs which provide reliable operational service. Other features of the role include:
• developing relationships with internal suppliers and stakeholders
• liaising with external suppliers to seek technical solutions and provide initial quotations
• providing delivery teams with a technical brief, handover document and drawings
• supporting the account manager at customer meetings to scope requirements and provide technical advice.
Either Degree qualified, or equivalent through technical training and substantial experience within or allied to the broadcast and media industry, you’ll also preferably be a member of a recognised professional institution and/or hold a business-related qualification. With a high degree of commercial awareness relating to system design and its impact on the services offered, you’ll be readily able to grasp new technical concepts and technologies rapidly and adapt them into system design to meet customer requirements. A self-driven team player with a strong commitment to deliver, you must have excellent technical report-writing, analytical and all-round communication skills, along with some knowledge of the technologies applicable within broadcast and media. These could include:
• DVB compression systems
• Digital TV/radio; analogue radio
• IP Networks,video and audio circuits
• satellite systems, programme playout automation and/or media management systems.
