The Lighting Hospital is a rapidly growing specialised electronic repair centre for lighting and video equipment used in the concert touring industry. We are the only company of its type in Europe and are constantly expanding our range of units repaired here.
We are looking for an electronics repair engineer to repair microcontroller control boards and switch mode lamp ballasts. Training will be given to the successful candidate but they must come with a sound understanding of electronics both digital and analogue and have hands on experience of building or repairing electronic circuits. They must have a keen eye for detail as well as good problem solving abilities. They will also be expected to devise and document repair strategies and design and build test jigs as new equipment is seen here. A good understanding of electronic test equipment is essential as well as being able to understand and interpret circuit diagrams and schematics.
Requirements:
A solid engineering grounding with the thirst and ability to learn new skills, combined with a strong focus on quality and an attention to detail.
Ability to understand why certain components have been chosen in a design and be able to specify substitutions for these.
Ability, enthusiasm and willingness to rapidly assimilate new skills will be preferred over any particular experience. However the ideal candidate will need to be able to work well and use their own initiative. This is a hands-on position requiring a practical light hearted person who can work independently but with good communication skills to interact with other professional team members.
