Primary purpose of role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Quality Controller in our Supply Chain Division based in Barming, Kent.
The successful candidate will be responsible for heading up the quality control function within the warehouse. Ensuring a consistent and efficient approach to quality control at delivery intake and stock return stages, taking all reasonable steps to optimise stock flow through the warehouse.
Clear understanding and application of inspection requirements and quality standards.
Work with the Brand Head Office teams to make sure requirements are in place ahead of the delivery.
Train your team, making sure that levels of understanding and application are monitored.
Be prepared to make informed decisions on the Brands behalf to maximise stock availability whilst reducing risk and minimising hold ups.
Maintain excellent working relationships based on shared objectives, with the warehouse and technical teams ( without compromising Brand Integrity or warehouse service standards)
Demonstrate a pro-active approach to product arriving at the warehouse.
To act promptly to problems when they arise to reach an early solution, liaising with the Head of Quality.
Skills / Experience
Strong Understanding of the AQL Inspection process.
Exposure to and understanding of over riding Legal & Safety requirements for clothing and non-clothing product including childrenswear.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Exhibits skills in team building and motivating
Ability to take the initiative when being asked to make decisions under pressure
3 - 5 years quaility inspection experience of textiles or FMCG,using recognised sampling plans.
Experience of brand and Warehouse/DC quality operations preferred.
