Thomson Reuters is looking for a highly experienced Communications professional to lead the UK/EMEA Communications department for the Professional division. This role will be based in London, U.K. S/he will provide strategy and support for reputation and issues management, employee and executive communications, public relations, social media, community relations and public affairs for the Professional operations located in UK and EMEA. The Communications group is responsible for creating programming to inspire and educate internal and external constituents, driving engagement and business results.
The director of Communications will be responsible for developing relationships with business leaders, providing counsel and developing strategic communications plans to further business goals. The director will also coordinate communications with colleagues across our Global Businesses to ensure alignment and maximum effectiveness of internal and external communications. This position will have management responsibility for senior-level professionals and will work in close partnership with Human Resources, marketing and business line leadership, as well as communications colleagues across Thomson Reuters. The position has dual reporting relationships into the heads of internal and external communications for Legal.
We're looking for a results-driven individual with experience counseling senior management. S/he should be an expert at written, spoken and visual communications and have a strong vision for using new approaches to mass communications. This highly visible role requires outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment. Organization and flexibility are key; creativity, drive for results, strong collaborative skills and commitment to success are imperative.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; masters degree a plus
Relevant and demonstrable experience in progressive communications related roles. Previous experience in a large, global corporation desired; agency experience a plus
Proven ability to influence and counsel senior management
Experience leading change management communications
Ability to influence and collaborate in a highly matrixed, global environment
Proven success leading cross-functional teams
Proactive nature and hands-on approach
Experience managing creative professionals and agencies
Ability to travel as required by the needs of the business
Proven expertise in a variety of business communications disciplines and media. Portfolio of previous work required
