Business Analyst, Salary: £35k, Location: Bristol
Summary
Do you have a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant field? Do you have previous experience in the Energy Industry? Do you want to progress your career further? If so, we are now recruiting for the position of Business Analyst in the Bristol area.
The Business Analyst will report directly to the Head of IS within the IT and Systems team. They are responsible for the end to end delivery, management and maintenance of all Systems and infrastructure that supports the business from conception through to implementation.
Main roles and responsibilities of the Business Analyst will include:
Working with all departments across the business to identify where system improvements can be made gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements
Liaising with in house and third party developers to manage the system change process, ensuring delivery to time/cost and quality
System test and approve releases for new developments and into UAT
Managing the communication and roll out of changes to the business
Document change
Acting as a Level 2 operational point of escalation for core systems
Experience and Skills Required
Understand the role of BA in supporting delivery of requirements from a technical and business perspective.
Communicate with technical staff and non-technical users with a view to interpreting the wishes and ideas of managers and users through to expressing opportunities and constraints back to these stakeholders
Elicit, document and prioritize high level and detailed requirements
Understand the project lifecycle and project approaches such as Waterfall, Agile and Iterative and can explain the importance of the BA role in each stage.
Produce a project definition/project initiation document clearly defining scope and project objectives and understands alternative techniques for documenting requirements.
Understands legal aspects of information systems (e.g. Data Protection Act in UK) and can advise on implications on IT systems, websites, etc.
Understands relevant quality criteria and can perform quality assurance of business analysis deliverables
Relevant qualification and training in Business Analysis (e.g. accredited to BCS/ISEB Business Analysis diploma level.)
Highly numerate, degree educated in a relevant field to 2:1 or above
Strong analytical and data manipulation skills
