This is a contract role based in NW of the U.K. working for a successful and reputable company which operates as a market leader in a number of diverse industries. With sites across the globe, the opportunities to increase knowledge and experience are vast. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be instrumental in leading continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste. You will also support New Product Development (NPD) projects.
Your role will also be to ensure that the Engineering function adheres to the correct HSE standards and processes, provide weekly updates to ensure the projects are on time and on cost, support all process based activities on NPD projects, prepare equipment and machinery specifications, ensure robust and efficient project planning, tracking & reporting. You will work closely with suppliers on the design and manufacture of equipment, jigs and fixtures, initiate and maintain contact with key equipment and machinery manufacturers, updating and reporting at engineering site tiered accountability meetings and any other duties as requested by the Engineering Lead.
To be considered for this role, you will need experience of manufacturing engineering and continuous improvements in a medium / high volume electronics industry, knowledge of printed circuit board assembly and programming, HNC or higher in relevant discipline. Preferably, you will also be a Strong lean manufacturing practitioner, (Six Sigma Green Belt).
