You will join a rapidly expanding team of academics and researchers in the Basin Studies and Petroleum Geoscience Research Group.
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and lead research in a petroleum geoscience / engineering related field that complements the current expertise in the school, which is at present in: clastic and carbonate sedimentology; structural analysis of sedimentary basins; 3D seismic technology and visualisation; reservoir characterisation and modelling; geochemistry applied to source rock and reservoir property prediction. We also have strong links with engineering and computer science schools in the University. You will be involved in the teaching activities of the group with an emphasis on providing leadership of our postgraduate and professional training in petroleum programmes in geoscience and petroleum engineering.
You should have a PhD or equivalent and extensive research experience in academia and/or industry, and experience of undertaking and directing relevant research at an international level. Experience of the hydrocarbon industry would be an advantage.
