The position of Project Manager on the Promotion Response Analytics team requires the development of data-driven, profit-maximizing recommendations concerning the allocation and targeting of promotional resources through the application of quantitative methods to secondary data sources. Primary activities include, but are not limited to: * Promotion response modeling * Impact assessment for physician- and patient-directed promotional programs * Return-on-investment analysis * Behavioral segmentation The Primary Activities include: * Directly influence decisions concerning the amount, allocation and targeting of promotional resources * Projects are product-specific, including new and in-line products, and/or focused on issues spanning multiple products * Challenged to synthesize information about therapeutic markets and their products, current marketing and sales practices, best practice marketing concepts, and pertinent market data to develop actionable promotion resource allocation recommendations This position resides within the Commercial Analytics department within the Information Management & Decision Support organization of Commercial Operations. Qualifications Education: * Advanced degree in Statistics, Management Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Psychology or other relevant discipline Required: * Minimum three years experience performing statistical analyses in a business environment required * Candidates must be experienced with SAS * Technical knowledge and experience in the areas of exploratory data analysis, estimation of promotion effectiveness using linear and non-linear multiple regression, predictive modeling, experimental design, behavioral segmentation, and resource optimization are required.
Strong consulting skills (e.g. able to: identify customer business needs * Communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences and "pushing back" appropriately when challenged) * Strong project management skills * Leadership (e.g., courage and willingness to champion change, strong collaborator, results-oriented, sound business decision-maker, willing to learn from and carefully consider others' points of view) * Autonomy/independence * Resource for others (around functional area) * Initiative/proactive * Communication (written, verbal) skills * Ability to work in the organization * Business acumen * Strategic perspective Preferred: * Three years experience performing statistical analyses supporting Marketing and/or Sales in the pharmaceutical industry * Experience manipulating and analyzing large data sets and familiarity with the Multiple Virtual Systems (MVS) environment are desirable * Experience with one or more of the following advanced techniques is also desirable: Bayesian data analysis, longitudinal analysis of time series cross sectional data, repeated measures modeling, Hierarchical Linear Modeling, data mining techniques, Classification and Regression Trees (CART)/ Chi-squared Automatic Interaction Detector (CHAID), and/or Discrete Choice Models Our employees are the key to our company's success.
