Introduction to Global Payments
Global Payments provides payment processing services across the Barclays Group, ensuring we make payments on time, accurately and with minimum risk. The team is also responsible for delivering one of Barclays strategic priorities - to develop a single world-class global payments capability.

UK - Daily average volume of 3.3MM payments and average value of £220bn
Outside the UK - Daily average volume of 1.5MM payments and average value of £6.5bn

Global Payments is supported by 3 'towers' that work together - Change, Operations and Technology.
Poole is the Centre of Excellence for Barclays payments capability
This position is based within the Global Payments Business Change Team
The team support the delivery of programs to ensure that Global Payments continues to meet the Barclays business units needs, and that we are delivering the highest of client satisfaction in the most efficient and controlled manner.
Change programs may include ensuring that Global Payments has the most efficient service delivery organisation and processes in place, support the implementation of the latest technology, and ensuring that we continue to meet the regulatory requirements.
Change delivery requires strong engagement across Global Payments Operational and Technology groups as well as with our clients in the Investment, Retail, Wealth and Corporate Bank.
We have a strong team of Project Management professionals, where we pride ourselves in delivering programs on time, to budget and with quality.
The team is located within the Global Payments centre of excellence in Poole.
Management of projects from inception to delivery of one or more projects up to £500K across Barclays businesses to time, cost, quality and scope
Assisting management of larger projects or programmes
Delivering project benefits in line with the business case
Management and development of staff within the team
Project Delivery (70%) (Accountable to Programme Manager/Accountable Executive)
Lead project from inception to delivery, including:
Accountability for ensuring that project outcomes are achieved and completed to time, cost and quality
Accountability for ensuring project remains on track to deliver benefits
Accountability for meeting outbound dependencies
Manage projects in accordance with BarCorp governance standards.
Potentially manage project delivery across different countries, managing relationships and progress remotely
Develop relationships with Stakeholders across Global Payments, other clients and Technology Office to shape change projects within their departments
Organisational Development (20%)
Line Manage and coach selected individuals (including Business Analysts) including Performance Development, Annual Reviews, Personal and Professional Development needs and Diversity, Disciplinary & Grievance and other group HR policies.
Personal & Professional Development (10%)
Continued development as a Project Manager, by delivering stretching projects (in terms of complexity, stakeholders, budget and benefits) and taking leading roles in major programmes when the opportunity arises
Maintain leading-edge personal and professional development by regular and focused activity, which covers the complete development spectrum (i.e. conferences, courses, personal coaching, etc).
Qualify to PRINCE2 and MSP to a minimum of foundation level

Experience and Qualifications
SATISFIES THE FSA CRITERIA FOR AN APPROVED PERSON, BOTH INITIALLY AND ONGOING
Demonstrable track record of successful delivery of a number of change projects (not necessarily in the finance sector)
Role may have an element of International Travel.
Additional critical qualities:
Ability to very quickly assimilate and understand Group/Cluster business strategy, the scope and objectives of the change programme, the scope and objectives of the change project, and the projects' contribution to, and effect on, the strategy and programme, both in the 'home' Cluster and other parts of the Group
Able to quickly understand and work within/around the political environment in which the particular programme is operating
Considerable ability to 'hit the ground running' in an unfamiliar environment
Significant personal flexibility and geographic mobility
Basic salary £22,800 - 28,000
