We are currently looking to appoint a Development Specialist to:
Design and develop development solutions which enable the identification, retention and development of talent to support business success
Design and implement development interventions, frameworks processes and tools for solutions such as Performance Management, Succession Planning, Talent Management, Leadership, Learning and Development and Competency Frameworks to improve business performance in line with the company wide People Development strategy.
Role Dimensions
Responsible for designing and implementing development solutions for a business of 12,000 people
Part of the People Development Team in the Organisation and People Development Centre of Expertise reporting into a Senior Development Specialist
Responsible for the deployment of Learning and Development Policy
Responsible for designing innovative organisation wide solutions which will improve the way that the business performs People Management supporting business performance
Responsible for implementation of tools and processes using a variety of methods in order to support delivery of the People Development Agenda
An ongoing and clear improvement in behaviour, competence, culture and attitude as evidenced by employee surveys, formal assessments/ performance appraisals, anecdotal feedback from the business
Demonstrate the success of development programmes within the business
Deliver the People Development Strategy and annual plan
PROBLEM SOLVING/COMPLEXITY
Challenge of influencing and driving the People Development agenda and best practice due to the detailed and complex interactions and cultural differences within the business
Results driven within the context of a complex business
Support and deliver new ways of working in a business and a function undergoing change
Achieve strategic accountabilities required of a Centre of Expertise whilst maintaining elements of delivery where required
Challenge of delivering the People Development agenda without full ownership of all teams providing development throughout the business
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Previous experience of being a member of a People Development team working to high performance standards
Experience of working with the Energy and Resources Industry or similar sized organisation desirable
Influencing capability at all levels coupled with presence and the strength to make an impact with demanding colleagues and internal customers supported by a commercial and professional outlook
Demonstrates commercial acumen and judgement with experience of working within a demanding, competitive, commercial environment.
Evidence of balancing business requirements with commercial drivers and HR priorities.
HR practitioner, demonstrating a sound knowledge of leading HR principles, practices and the application in meeting business requirements
People Development practitioner, demonstrating a sound knowledge of leading development principles, practices and the application in meeting business requirements
Posession of a professional development qualification is essential
Possession of a CIPD qualifications or equivalent would be desirable but not essential
Proven experience of managing and leading projects through to a successful conclusion
Team player with ability to network effectively up, down, across and beyond the businesses
