The University of Sussex is seeking a Marketing Officer to join its existing student recruitment marketing team. We’re looking for a highly organised team player with proven experience of working in a marketing or student recruitment function. You will need excellent client and customer service skills, a good understanding of how different media channels can be used for marketing purposes. A keen eye for detail is also essential to help deliver high quality marketing activity for Sussex.
This is a varied role which supports the work of Marketing Managers and other members of the Marketing team. A significant proportion of the work of the Marketing Officer will be concerned with providing a detailed knowledge of the market and competitors as well as delivering comprehensive evaluation of campaigns to refine our activities. Day to day activities include content creation and copy writing, running digital and social media campaigns, undertaking detailed competitor research and updating recruitment and market insight packs to inform marketing planning and development.
The Marketing team is responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans for the academic schools and departments of the University. The team also informs strategy development of Student Recruitment Services. The existing Marketing team consists of six Marketing Managers, five Marketing Officers, one Market Research Officer, one Market Research Assistant, one Team Coordinator, a Senior Marketing Manager, a Senior Market Researcher and the Head of Marketing.
