Fixed Term Contract: Secondment opportunity to 16 January 2012
Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Secretary (Curriculum Support). The post-holder will be responsible for all administrative aspects associated with the organisation and delivery of Phase 1 (Years 1 & 2) of the undergraduate medical programme. The post is offered on a secondment basis until January 2012
The successful candidate will be experienced in managing staff, in using student records systems and be a proficient user of Microsoft Office software. You will have experience in servicing committees and working with assessment regulations particularly to ensure the smooth running of examinations and examination boards. You will be highly organised in scheduling teaching and planning practical and unseen examinations. You will have the ability to produce, record and access information in different scenarios paying particular attention to detail and the need for accuracy at all times. You will be able to develop close and effective working relationships with colleagues and to maintain a professional demeanour whilst working under pressure.
The post-holder will be responsible to the Deputy Medical School Secretary but will work closely with senior members of BSMS faculty, especially the Phase 1 Leader and Module Leaders and with colleagues in other administrative units in the parent universities and partner NHS trusts.
