A project engineer is required to join a team of product development specialists in the development of future multi-function devices. The team is responsible for the elements of the device associated with the functions of scanning the original document, image processing and xerographic marking and fusing. The role will specifically support the development and delivery to manufacturing of improved xerographic marking solutions and modules that drive high quality, competitive offerings to our operating companies around the world.
Direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for the planning, organisation, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
Plan and formulate the engineering programme and organise project staff according to project requirements.
Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and related specifications.
Coordinate activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Direct integration of technical activities and products.
Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Experienced Graduate in Physics or Engineering with aptitude and commitment toward:-
Dealing with open-ended problems with the ability to re-factor problems and tasks into precise terms and to identify the key critical issues.
Being openly and actively inquisitive with the commitment to find information to progress the task of delivering robust solutions.
A keenness to communicate complex information effectively and concisely by means of written documents, presentations or discussion.
An ability to work independently and as part of a team, to use initiative and meet deadlines.
A chartered engineer (or working toward chartership) with experience in new product development and delivery would be advantageous
Structured and organised; good planning, reporting and communication skills and capable of leading problem solving and investigation activities.
Advantaged (but not essential) by awareness in the following:
o Data acquisition e.g. using LabView
o Xerography or other printing technologies
o Multiphysics simulations
o Electronics including LEDs
o General Instrumentation
o Design for Lean Six Sigma or Robust Design methodology
