The Finance Project Manager will be responsible for leading, managing and delivering a range of projects with short term planning horizons.
With multiple interfaces into the rest of the business, the Finance Project Manager will take the Finance lead in business projects, acting as the Finance representative on that project.
This is a 6 month fixed term contract opportunity, based at the Friends Life Centre, Bristol
Responsibilities
To lead, manage and deliver assigned projects/work-streams on time, within budget and to scope. Projects likely to have a budget of up to £1m per annum
Responsible for shaping and developing the project/workstream approach
To apply and champion the appropriate project management discipline, i.e. planning, resourcing, scheduling, monitoring, reporting and risk, issue and dependency management. This should include effective & timely application of project stages at which lessons learned are captured and built into future plans on an ongoing basis.
Responsible for distillation of complex information or data in order to get to root issues or see the bigger picture.
Establishes an effective project/work-stream organisation structure and responsible for project/work-stream team shaping, building, development, management and motivation.
Responsible for the budget reporting, forecasting and expenditure associated with assigned project/work-stream.
Responsible for overall project/work-stream planning & management of resources required (including well developed contingency plans) to deliver the agreed solutions.
Manages and contributes to the selection of supplier delivery relationships for technical partners, software vendors and contract agencies for assigned project.
Responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and key customers, ensuring project delivery meets requirements
Skills, Experience & Knowledge
Essential
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience and/ or relevant Industry qualification
Significant previous experience with proven track record of delivery in projects within a finance environment.
Proven ability to lead project teams
Expert in Project Management disciplines
Experience of budget management
Experience within a Financial Services environment
Proven experience and ability to influence senior management population
Proven experience of managing relationships with 3rd parties
Desirable
Good understanding of end to end FPLC delivery lifecycle
Good knowledge of Life and Pensions
