The post necessitates driving a variety of vehicles, including coaches, trucks and light passenger vehicles throughout the UK. Applicants must hold a current valid Cat C, C1 + E D D1 B licence and have a minimum of 2 years recent experience in operating coaches. It is essential to be conversant with UK road traffic regulations and driving hours. The role also necessitates reporting any defects found, pre maintenance vehicle checks and responsibility for refueling and cleaning of the vehicle. There is a requirement to maintain vehicle operator records and reports and complete appropriate paperwork in the event in the event or an accident. Medical and eye sight tests will be required prior to taking up appointment and the position will require on call duties.
There are 2 positions available with the following working patterns: -
Working Pattern: 1
The net conditioned hours for this post are 37 hours a week, spread over 5 days (Friday to Tuesday) with Wednesday and Thursday as rest days. This pattern will involve weekend working, variable hours and some early morning starts. The pattern will attract payment of Saturday (half hourly rate) and Sunday (plain time) premium payment (16 hours in total) and night allowance (3 ¾ hours) 1/3 hourly rate. Some overtime many also be required but is not guaranteed.
Exact Hours
Friday 10:15 to 19:15 (including ½ hour unpaid meal break)
Saturday 05:15 to 13:45 (including ½ hour unpaid meal break)
Sunday 05:15 to 13:45 (including ½ hour unpaid meal break)
Monday 07:45 to 16:45 (including ½ hour unpaid meal break)
Tuesday 08:00 to 12:00

This is a Lifed post and the duration of these posts are expected to be no more than two years. Although there is no scheduled disestablishment date the future requirement for these posts will be reviewed six months in advance of the expected end date.
