Position: Retail Merchandising Manager
Location: Westcott, Aylesbury
Salary: £40,000 depending on experience
As a Merchandising Manager you will report to the DTC Manager - EMEA and will manage the merchandising activity for all company owned stores and web. You will analyse product, consumer and competitive trends within store markets. You will assist in product designs and must have a high level of knowledge of upcoming trends.
a) To plan products ranges and prepare sales and stock plans in conjunction with the buying department.
b) Liaise with buyers, analysts, stores, product, production, and marketing departments and plan budgets and present sales forecasts and figures for new ranges (e.g.: sales meetings).
c) Work closely with store management and marketing department to decide how products should be displayed to maximise customer interest and sales.
d) Produce detailed seasonal layout plans for stores; forecast profits and sales, and optimise the sales volume and profitability of designated product areas.
e) Analyse every aspect of bestsellers (inc, bestselling price points, colours or styles) and ensure that bestsellers reach their full potential.
f) Maintain awareness of competitors' performance.
g) Monitor slow sellers and take action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary; gather information on customers' reactions to products; analyse previous season's sales and report on the current season's lines.
h) Meet with product department and manage the distribution of stock, agreeing timescales and delivery dates; identify production and supply difficulties and deal with any problems or delays as they arise. Manage, train and supervise junior staff.
i) Use specialist computer software, for example to handle sales statistics, produces sales projections and present spreadsheets and graphs.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) An excellent understanding and experience of the branded sports / lifestyle market place / consumer in EMEA; proven knowledge in financial line planning, business planning and strategic planning.
b) High level of understanding of merchandising - product lifecycle and principles.
c) Commercial awareness; industry, market, economy and its influence on New Era.
d) Demonstrate growth in an established brand and/or a new business through new products, services, methods or approaches that are innovative, and uphold the brand values.
e) Able to deliver under pressure; a clear and concise communicator with the ability to facilitate meetings and deliver presentations.
f) Has analytical aptitude and retail maths skills; for trends and insights.
g) Ability to manage and coach a team to create followership.
h) Strong presentational skills - must be able to create and deliver impactful presentations; good Microsoft Office skills.
i) The role requires some travel within EMEA and Internationally.
a) Undergraduate degree desirable, preferably in business or marketing.
