Instrument Development Designer J 12643
Bulldog Engineering Recruitment and Management Services - Sussex
Our client a very successful growing company in the field of hi-tech Ultra High Vacuum [UHV] instrumentation is looking for an Instrument Development Designer to augment the team.

The role demands an energetic, professional person with a driven approach to work.

The work involves the design in Solid Works of complex precision mechanisms required to perform faultlessly in the demanding world of Ultra High Vacuum. Many of these mechanisms will include a high degree of automation.

A significant percentage of the work will involve the development of new or customised products and therefore the Designer must have the proven ability to ?think on their feet? whilst having the discipline to adhere stringently to the requirements imposed on design by the requirements of UHV. The role will involve a considerable degree of measurement, testing and prove-out of the designs.

The Designer will have a comprehensive knowledge of relevant technology, viz. vacuum physics, mechanisms, FEA modelling, FMEA, detail drawings, including dimensional and geometric tolerances.

Previous experience in a similar field and with Solid Works would be a distinct advantage.

An understanding of mechanical engineering in depth and preferably in addition a solid background in physics at degree or PhD level is a pre-requisite for this role.
