This role is a positive result of the restructure and will lead the way in delivering local services. The role

As the lead officer with responsibility for two towns, you will work closely with community groups and agencies to identify issues and develop strategies to resolve them. These groups cover a diverse range of public interests, from housing and environmental health to trading standards and antisocial behaviour.

This position is highly strategic but you will be required to get actively involved on a local level in order to fully appreciate and understand the needs of the community. Building active working partnerships and promoting effective communication will be central to this.

Your profile

We would like to meet a strong, highly experienced senior manager with a background and specialist knowledge in a relevant field, such as housing or community safety. A professional portfolio of managing and delivering complex change and improvement programmes will be essential.

Your capacity for partnership working needs to be matched by a high level of business acumen and commercial awareness. We will also be looking for highly developed interpersonal skills, the ability to make well-balanced judgments, and tenacity for creative and innovative thinking.
