The Open University Business School is recruiting part-time Associate Lecturers for a number of Level 1 modules on its Undergraduate Business and Management Programme:
An introduction to business studies (B120)
An introduction to retail management and marketing (B122)
Working and learning: developing effective performance at work (BU130)
With a degree or relevant vocational qualification (e.g. retail management, business studies, marketing), you should be able to combine professional experience or an academic specialism relevant to these modules with a personal commitment to the education of students studying at a distance.
Flexibility is the key for our tutors to provide high quality teaching and enable the highest quality student learning experience - as many of our part-time tutors may have other jobs and commitments.
An ability to support the educational requirements of first-year undergraduate students will be at the heart of the roles. It would be desirable to have relevant practical experience of developing others through work-based learning (for example, through working in a retail management role).
You'll help students grow in confidence, develop skills and knowledge through an exciting blend of online, telephone and face-to-face teaching and assessment. If you're highly organised and have good ICT skills, you could play a pivotal role in supporting students from all kinds of diverse backgrounds.
