Job DescriptionJob Title: Program Coordinator – Social Services Agency: DCFS–Department of Children and Family Services Opening Date: Mon. 01⁄03⁄11 Closing Date⁄Time: Mon. 01⁄10⁄:59 PM Central Time State Salary Range: $18.66 – $39.27 hourly $1,492.62 – $3,141.69 biweekly $3,234.00 – $6,807.00 monthlyAgency Hiring Range:Min: Max:Job Type:Promotion–Department⁄Agency–wideLocation: Other, Louisiana | Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A baccalaureate degree plus four years of professional level experience in business operations, economics, public health, public relations, research and evaluation, or in providing social services or health services.SUBSTITUTIONS: Eight years full–time work experience in any field may be substituted for the degree only. Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree, as follows: A maximum of 90 semester hours can be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.

15 to 29 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 30 to 44 semester hours credit will substitute for two years experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 45 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for three years experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 60 to 74 semester hours credit will substitute for four years experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

75 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for five years experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 90 or more semester hours credit will substitute for six years experience towards the baccalaureate degree. College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree can be substituted for a maximum of six years full–time work experience. Candidates with 90 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree must also have at least two years full–time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree only.

Graduate training with eighteen semester hours in one or any combination of the following fields will substitute for one year of the experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience: public health; counseling; social work; psychology; rehabilitation services; economics; business, public, or health administration. A Juris Doctorate will substitute for two years of the required experience. A master& 39;s degree in the above fields will substitute for two years of the experience. A Ph.D.

in the above fields will substitute for three years of the experience. NOTE: Graduate training will not substitute for more than three years of the required experience. NOTES: Health services is defined as nursing service, ancillary services (radiology, medical laboratory, pharmacy, etc.) and medical services. Public health includes jobs such as sanitarian, public health engineer, and public health epidemiologist.

NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Incorporated; the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the Northwest Association of Secondary and Higher Schools; the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Supplemental Information: This position is open only to current DCFS employees. We are recruiting candidates from the Lafayette and Lake Charles areas. No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
