Engineering Project Manager / Large Complex Equipment
£45'000 - £60'000
Location: Stoke
Healthcare / car or car allowance
Relocation package available for the right person

Ideal person will be 70% engineer, 30% PM with electrical/mechanical/electronic experience

The candidate will be a Professional Engineer responsible for the Project Management of Cargo & Vehicle Inspection Systems (CVI) Engineering Projects dealing with all of the Engineering disciplines and all aspects of the design process from initial Project Kick-off Meeting to the Product Launch.

Ideal person will be 70% engineer, 30% PM. They must have electrical/mechanical experience and not just via project managing these areas.

The candidate will be a Professional Engineer responsible for the Project Management of Cargo & Vehicle Inspection Systems (CVI) Engineering Projects dealing with all of the Engineering disciplines and all aspects of the design process from initial Project Kick-off Meeting to the Product Launch.

Key Responsibilities:
1.Manage the design process after handover of the initial concept from R&D, through the development process, prototype build and eventual product launch.
2.Participate, contribute and review the design to technically influence the product to ensure it is fit for purpose and of the correct quality.
3.Control the specification of the product through Design Review, Validation, Verification meetings.
4.Communicate to Senior Management through Project Reviews, or other means, updates and snapshots of the Project including highlighting issues in a timely manner.

5.Manage the following aspects of the Project:
a.Project plan
b.Product requirements and specification
c.Test procedures and work instructions
d.Product manuals and reports
6.Work with mechanical, electrical, electronic and software engineers to bring the products to production on time and in budget.
7.Ensure the Design and Development procedure outlined in the QMS is adhered to and all relevant documentation and test data is produced, recorded and available for inspection in conjunction with QA/QC Team.
8.Work with the Document Control Team ensuring all BoM's are prepared and up to date prior to the launch of the product.
9.Liaise with the Manufacturing Engineering Team to provide prototype Engineering Change Notifications to the Engineering team prior to product release.
10.Provide feedback to Sales and Marketing regarding the status and expected delivery of products to the market along with specifications and expected budgets.

Experience & Attributes:
1.A good communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to articulate to both internal engineers and external suppliers at all levels.
2.An engineering knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic and software. A Knowledge of X-ray Systems would be an advantage.
3.Have managed Engineering Projects ideally across engineering disciplines with a proven track record of successfully released products.
4.Some overseas travel will be required on larger projects.

Knowledge, Training and Qualifications if required:
1.Degree educated preferably Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
2.Ideally PMP or similar PM professional qualification or PRINCE2 qualified.
3.Ideally with a Process background.
