Primary purpose of role
Responsibility for efficient collection transportation and delivery of products to customers using a commercial motor vehicle meeting company, customer and legislative requirements.
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for interfacing with customer staff at the point of delivery and ensuring that the appropriate paperwork is completed
Ensuring that appropriate checks are carried out to the vehicle prior to commencing work
Reporting any issues arising within the performance of the job in accordance with agreed processes and procedures
Working in a safe manner
Manual handling
Complying with local legislative requirements and company policies and procedures
Qualifications
Valid LGV Driving licence Class 1
High school education
Skills / Experience
Previous experience of driving commercial vehicles
Knowledge of geographical area
Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
Ability to read, understand and follow directions/instructions
Ability to count accurately and to perform simple math calculations
Ability to move product which may require bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching and/or lifting, in line with Health & Safety regulations
