Job Overview:
A marine Environmental Consultancy seeks Geoscientists to work in their expanding and dynamic Site Investigation & Survey Team. Applicants are invited with offshore site investigation and/or survey experience within oil and gas, marine cables and/or renewables.

The Company for the last 30 years has worked primarily in the Oil & Gas, Water, Cable and Renewable Energy industries. Its world-wide projects range from desk study consultancy through to the management of multi-million pound contracts in the marine environment. These projects are predominantly in oil and gas exploration and production, power cables, pipelines, offshore wind farms, and marine renewables - from initial feasibility and routing studies, through to survey, engineering, installation, and post-installation monitoring.

With a strong technical background involved in projects relating to site investigation and surveys, you will work a multi-disciplinary team, alongside senior level consultants, undertaking a range of projects. Expertise in some of the following will be required - marine site investigation (including site and route surveys), shallow geohazard analysis, operations survey management, risk assessments, environmental risk identification.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of Site Investigation, your role will be varied and will include:

Working in a multidisciplinary team, undertaking technical aspects of the investigation and survey projects, from conception to delivery.

Liaising and build relationships with clients - communicate effectively throughout the project as and when required.

Liaising effectively with your colleagues to ensure deliverables are achieved in a timely and professional manner. Attention to detail is key.

Supporting the delivery and future development of services to client, across the Company's core business sectors.

Being proactive in sharing technical knowledge with your colleagues and applying your technical expertise to inform, challenge, and define the services offered to clients.

Participating in project team meetings and attending meetings with third parties/clients, as required

Perform analysis, calculation & interpretation, using
tools
ranging from spreadsheets to analytical/numerical models and other in-house software.

Preparation of reports, briefing notes, and other technical deliverables

Adopting a proactive approach to HSEQ.

This position offers a great deal of opportunity and scope for a geophysicist or geotechnical individual with proven marine site investigations and/or survey expertise within oil and gas, marine cables and/or renewables. Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
BSc in Geology/Geophysics or Earth Sciences essential

Postgraduate qualification in a related field desirable

Extensive offshore operational experience essential.

Thorough understanding of data acquisition techniques and interpretative reporting essential.

Knowledge and understanding of current site investigation standards.

Understanding and experience of environmental issues and legislation desired as is current international site investigation market trends.

Ability to articulate technical content/results to colleagues and clients essential.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-discipline team essential.

Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients essential.

A pro-active and dynamic approach to working essential.

A dynamic and self-sufficient individual who can manage workload and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and objectives.

Ability to travel.

Package: An attractive Salary of £35K - £45K plus excellent benefits package and potential bonus plan is on offer dependent on skills and experience. There may be flexibility on salary for high calibre candidate.
