Could you be at the heart of Oxfam’s emergency response in Macclesfield?

When an emergency strikes, we need people to mobilise support in their communities, organising fundraising collections and events which will save lives of people around the world right now.

As an Emergency Response Fundraising Coordinator, you will be part of a new, growing team of inspiring individuals, all dedicated to taking action when a crisis occurs. And we will support you every step of the way.

What work will I be doing as an Emergency Response Fundraising Coordinator?

You will have a vital role in responding to humanitarian crises by raising vital funds for Oxfam’s emergency response work.

This will involve making arrangements with local councils and organisations to put on cash collections in public spaces and stations.

Organising small-scale fundraising events and activities.

Recruiting and managing a group of volunteers for collections and events.

Promoting Oxfam’s emergency response work and encouraging people within your local community to support Oxfam.

Publicising fundraising collections and events.

Additionally you could contact local community groups or businesses to get involved with emergency fundraising.

What skills and attributes will I need to do this volunteer role?

Passion and enthusiasm for responding to humanitarian crises.

Trustworthy and reliable.

Well organised, capable of coordinating fundraising events.

Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to ask people to get involved.

Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

What can this role offer me as a volunteer?

You will be making an important contribution to Oxfam’s life-saving work, helping Oxfam respond to emergencies when they occur.

You will see tangible results from your fundraising activities and have the satisfaction of knowing every penny raised has helped those in desperate need.

You will receive an induction from you local Fundraising Manager on emergency fundraising and volunteer recruitment and management.

Your Fundraising Manager will be on hand at all times to offer advice and support.

Oxfam will provide you with all the necessary resources and materials.
