It employs 5000 staff and comprises of three hospitals located at Worcester, Kidderminster and Redditch.This is a new post as a result of the success of the Acute Short Stay Team pilot and the resulting expansion of the Medical Assessment Unit. This is a shared post and hence you will be required to work as the Consultant in Respiratory Medicine undertaking the full range of duties including outpatient clinics, inpatient reviews, bronchoscopy sessions, MDT meetings and one week in three will be spent leading the Acute Short Stay Team to ensure smooth and efficient patient flows whilst maintaining high level of patient care.

You will be required to participate in the Consultant Physician on-call rota which is currently on a 1:9 basis.The Alexandra Hospital has a particular interest in training junior doctors and has close links the local Medical Schools.
