This company, with more than 10 years of expertise in the field specialise in laptop repairs and are very experienced in all aspects of hardware repair. Working directly with the company director, day to day duties include the following:

  • Dealing with customer enquiries in person and at the repair shop counter
  • Logging telephone enquiries from customers
  • Quoting prices for repair costs, both by telephone and at the shop counter
  • Cash Handling and issuing receipts to customers
  • Repairing a wide range of hardware for telephone and lap-top products, including: Dell, Toshiba, Packard Bell, Acer, Asus, Lenovo, IBM, Samsung, HP, Compaq, Sony, eMachines, I-Phone
  • Data Recovery - cloning failing hard drives onto a new drive without loss of data.
  • Installing operating systems - Windows 7, Windows 8, OSX installed with all the correct drivers for laptop
  • Virus and malware removal
  • Memory upgrades
(Full training and support will be provided as part of the 12 month apprenticeship)

Training to be Provided

Throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship you will be required to attend the 3aaa Technology Academy in Brighton for up to 12 weeks on a block release basis for structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals. The qualifications consist of:

  • Edexcel Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms
  • L3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
  • L3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
  • Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths & ICT (if applicable)

3aaa Technology Academy offers a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals. This includes a Diploma in IT Professional Competence and an Extended Diploma in IT Systems and Principles.

Some aspects of your training will be based at one of our 3aaa Technology Academies where you will be required to attend for up to 10 weeks (on block release) during your Apprenticeship. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace. The Apprenticeship duration is a minimum of 12 months.

As the IT profession is highly skilled and continually evolving we expect all Apprentices will continue their development towards a 12 month Level 4 IT Apprenticeship. The Level 4 programme is equivalent to a foundation degree.

3aaa Technology Academy also offer a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals which includes a Level 4 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals and Level 4 HNC in Systems Development. The Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship will expand upon the previous Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. The focus of the Apprenticeship is on self-directed research, study and assignment completion.

It is a 12 month Apprenticeship where you will attend the Training Academy on day release, up to a maximum of 20 Academy training days, the remaining time is spent in the workplace with your employer.

Higher IT Apprentices can expect to follow various career paths with this Apprenticeship programme in job roles such as IT Network Manager, IT Analyst or IT Engineer.

Over the 12 month Apprenticeship successful candidates can expect to achieve a Level 3 Qualification in Social Media & Digital Marketing which is achieved through day release to the academy and on the job assessment.

Training will be delivered at your local 3aaa Social Media Academy and with your employer. Initially you will attend the Academy for an intensive 5 day study block. You will then be expected to attend the training Academy on day release every month for the first 5 months of the Apprenticeship.

Important Other Information

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is per hour (This will increase to per hour from 1st October 2014). This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
