The Global Business Unit (GBU) is responsible for managing the commercial buying relationship of their top 20 global suppliers, with whom they have an annual turnover in excess of £10 Billion.
Position: Supplier Commercial Manager
Location: Cheshunt, Hertfordshire
Salary: £50k to 100k
The Supplier Commercial Manager will ensure they maximize communication and engagement with their in market commercial teams and their supplier partners to deliver the desired profitable growth their global scale should unlock. You will manage Global Business Unit supplier partners and look at the consumer market data to generate high quality joint business plans. Working with Tesco commercial teams you will build strong global relationships with the strategic supplier partners as well as accelerate profitable growth with them across the Tesco world.
a) Work with the supplier, Dunhumby, category marketing team and the in-market commercial teams to ensure your suppliers build insight led business plans of a quality that results in sales growth outperformance in the market average.
b) Manage the commercial relationship with partner suppliers ensuring improvement, performance and business improvement for both parties.
c) Work cross functionally in partnership with your peers and key stakeholders to ensure delivery of the performance standards.
d) Conduct on-going monitoring for compliance, report by exception and recommendations to supplier strategy.
e) Develop supplier forecasts (medium >long term); and providing insights / recommendation to Global Business Unit and Buying colleagues to inform the buying strategy.
f) Investigate issues identified via market intelligence
g) High quality external analysis to ensure they deliver their targets
a) An excellent understanding of the entire supply chain and supplier relationships, esp large FMCG
b) Able to use data robustly, have strong attention to detail and maintain excellence by ensuring all information is ready to report on a timely basis.
c) Used to managing competing demands, maintaining the critical path, recognising trends, resolving problems and identifying opportunities to improve.
d) Able to provide innovative ideas and approaches to improve potential shortfalls and mitigate risks and issues.
e) Great MS Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
f) Excellent report writing, presenting and influencing skills.
