Reporting to Department Manager or Study Manager.
Developing mine designs and plans, managing studies and supervising subordinates for open pit projects.
Mentoring and training senior AMEC mining personnel.
Playing a key role in business development activities by establishing and maintaining client relationships and developing business leads and work opportunities.
Soliciting work and preparing proposals as well as bids for all levels of study and engineering projects.
Promoting AMEC mining engineering business with participation in professional conferences and working groups.
Supporting continuous development of AMEC-wide cost and design databases.
Performing Peer Review and Senior Review duties for work performed by others.
B.Sc. or Graduate Mining Engineering Degree.
Professional registration or ability to be registered in one year.
10 plus years experience in operations and engineering roles of increasing responsibility in the mining and consulting industry with focus on open pit mining.
Operational experience in open pit gold or base metal operations as well as project and engineering management an asset.
Budgeting, estimating, and scheduling experience, with financial modeling skills being an asset.
Familiar with mine planning software such as Whittle, MineSched, Vulcan, Gemcom, Datamine and Minesight.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (foreign language skills are an advantage).
A willingness to travel.
