THE POSITION
As a Software Engineer in our NOVUS ITS development team you will help design and implement new functionality and maintain web-based dispatching and monitoring software, as well as mobile software that integrates with bus systems and provides a user interface for the vehicle operator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Participate in the definition of system requirements and functionality
Implement, test, and integrate source code from design
Write and update documentation of the module-level design and unit test plan
Investigate and resolve module-level problems
Participate in design reviews to ensure conformance to requirements
Create test suites for unit testing, write and debug test software
THE PERSON:
The successful candidate will be talented and self-motivated, a quick learner and creative. They will have excellent problem solving skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working on a team, but be able to work with moderate guidance and take pride in the quality and timely delivery of their work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree (BSCS or BSEE) from four-year college or university
Strong programming ability in C++
Education/Experience in structured and object-oriented methodologies
Practical exposure to current Web tools and technologies (web services, XML, XSLT, HTML, Javascript, DHTML)
Understanding of thin-client and service oriented architecture essentials preferred
Working experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle, ODBC, T-SQL and Subversion preferred
1-5 years professional experience preferred
GUI design experience is a plus
