The role of Quality Manager - Night Shift is a newly created position in response to business growth. You will build and manage quality assurance systems and represent the Quality and Technical team during the night shift ensuring KPI's are met. You will manage and develop two Quality Auditors and as a team you will ensure all products produced adhere to legal, customer and company requirements. You will work closely with the Hygiene Team and Day Shift Quality Manager to provide an efficient handover and to prepare for BRC and Customer Audits.
Kerry Foods' Burton site produces chilled ready meals for major multiple retailers and employs c900 staff. The site has grown rapidly in the last 5 years and further growth and development is anticipated. Products manufactured at the site are innovative and ground breaking in their categories. Responsible for the management of Quality standards during the night shift.
Work closely with Manufacturing Managers to deal with any non-conformances and agree corrective actions.
Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the site.
Manage and motivate two Quality Auditors and initiate training as appropriate.
Maintain due diligence and continuous improvement through auditing and corrective actions.
Proven experience gained in a QA supervisory or managerial role in a fast paced, large scale food production environment.
Proven and demonstrable experience of driving performance, coaching and developing others.
Knowledge and experience of BRC standards and Tesco codes of practice.
Proven experience in making successful business decisions under pressure in a fast paced environment.
Candidates will hold a Food Science/ Technology degree or equivalent.
HACCP training and qualifications desirable.
Experience gained using e-mail and Excel essential.
