DEPENDING ON SATISFACTORY PROGRESS
A postgraduate research studentship / graduate teaching assistant post is available in the Department of Modern Languages providing the opportunity to undertake research leading to the award of PhD on the following theme:
Francophone African and Caribbean Studies
In addition, you will be required to undertake teaching duties within the Department, not normally exceeding 6 hours per week during term, for which a separate 0.4 FTE fixed term contract of employment will be issued.
You will receive a postgraduate research studentship to cover fees and a maintenance stipend for up to 3 years, plus, for the graduate teaching assistant post, a salary on the University TSR1 scale (£24,273 - £26,523 pro rata).
Candidates must send with their application their own outline project proposal within the field of Francophone African and Caribbean Studies.
Applicants should have a minimum of a 2.1 undergraduate degree in French or closely related discipline and preferably a Master's degree in any specialism within the field of French and Francophone Studies.
