The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £39,510-£46,635 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Faculty Institute of Graduate Studies (FIGS) was developed in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities to support, enhance and develop graduate student provision. The External Communications Manager is responsible for leading on marketing strategies and developing high level marketing and fundraising campaigns for the Institute, as well as managing external marketing tools including designing the FIGS website.
The Communications Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of an efficient and effective administrative service to graduate studies in the entire Faculty. The Manager will independently make decisions regarding, in particular, marketing strategy for existing and new programmes.
The post is funded for two years in the first instance
Key Requirements
The successful candidate will be adept at building and maintaining external business relationships, including with overseas governments and businesses, both for the purposes of student recruitment and fundraising. The Communications Manager will have exceptional communication skills. He or she must have previous experience of working in an academic environment as well as extensive knowledge of UK and international higher education. Proven experience of establishing and building successful relationships is essential, as is the ability to undertake frequent travel, both in the UK and overseas. The successful candidate will possess a first degree or equivalent, as well as a relevant professional qualification in marketing and/or fundraising.
