Stockley Park Role synopsis IT&S (Information Technology & Services) is a major global Function in BP, responsible for all IT related services across the Group. GOI (Global Operations and Infrastructure) is accountable for providing effective and efficient global IT&S infrastructure services that underpin all of BP’s business operations.
GOI services cover all IT&S infrastructure platforms to support and enable applications and information systems, all end user productivity services & tools including telephony, messaging and desktops, all supporting telecommunications and all supporting service management process and tools across IT&S. GOI is accountable for the design, build and day to day operational delivery of these services.
The GOI Planning Manager role (Level G) offers the opportunity to lead the financial planning process for GOI, a critical part of BP’s IT activity set with good exposure to the IT&S Central Planning Manager and the IT&S Planning Managers for the segments and other central IT&S teams. By running the GOI plan process, the Planning Manager will have significant interaction with the GOI LT and the Finance Leads that support them therein. The candidate will need to have strong interpersonal skills, good business judgment and the ability to work within tight timelines. Key accountabilities The Planning Manager will have the following key accountabilities:
Work closely with the IT&S Central Planning team to understand the key parameters of the planning cycle and to communicate these within the GOI organisation.
Lead the production of the cost plan across GOI.
Work closely with the GOI demand capture lead to take the outputs of this process (requests for GOI services) and translate it into BU allocations.
Lead efforts to simplify and standardize processes and systems relating to the GOI Plan.
Communication of plan timescales, assumptions, status, bridge charts etc.
Analysis of the key drivers of the plan and changes against prior years for both costs and allocations to BUs.
Working closely with key areas of GOI to understand the plan drivers and the most appropriate allocation keys for the GOI service offers.
Provide input to the IT&S Central Planning team for the GOI plan used in the IT&S LT annual plan reviews and the 3 year financial framework.
Support the GOI Finance Manager and his direct reports in running the GOI Finance team activities. Essential Education Degree in accounting or business or related field. Essential experience and job requirements Finance experience, preferably in an SPU and/or Function.

Excellent proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel, with knowledge of MS Access beneficial. Desirable criteria & qualifications Solid Management Accounting / Budgetary Control.
Accounting qualification or equivalent.
Prior experience in planning and performance management.
Ability to identity ways to do activities simpler, faster, better, more efficiently.
