Our client, a leading provider of affordable homes in the south and west of England, is currently looking for an experienced housing professional to take on the role of Tenancy Enforcement Officer. This position is field based from Bristol (moving to Worle in September 2013) and the starting salary is £23,192.

The Tenancy Enforcement Officer will be responsible for investigating and dealing with tenancy breaches arising from anti-social behaviour (ASB), sub letting or squatting. You will be expected to use a range of tools to address a number of issues from mediation and acceptable behaviour contracts to court actions such as demotions, injunctions or repossessions. The Tenancy Enforcement Officer will investigate and resolve ASB complaints and will work to identify neighbourhoods where preventative community interventions are needed.

The Tenancy Enforcement Officer will represent the organisation clearly and professionally in a range of situations often under challenging circumstances including in court, multi-agency, staff and residents’ meetings. You will also be required to provide expert advice to other departments where necessary.

The successful candidate will be educated to A-level or equivalent and will have experience within a social housing setting or conflict resolution role. You must have sound knowledge of legislation and best practice relating to tenancy and housing management, ideally in relation to ASB and tenancy enforcement. Our client is looking for a strong communicator who is committed to providing excellent customer service whilst taking into account equality and diversity.

Our client is looking for a highly organised individual who can remain calm under pressure, show empathy and relate well to others. It is also important that you have good IT skills (to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio) and strong administration abilities.

Due to the nature of the role, the Tenancy Enforcement Officer should be able to drive and have use of a vehicle for business purposes.

Candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB check.
