Main Function The Glasgow Over-the-counter (OTC) Derivatives Utility is a newly created area, bringing together both OTC Derivative Confirmation and Settlement functions across Interest Rate, Foreign Exchange, Equity and Credit Derivatives. The Glasgow OTC Derivatives Utility will form part of the Global OTC Derivative Operations Post Trade Service Organisation, which includes teams in New York, Singapore, Frankfurt and Tokyo.

The purpose of the role is to take primary responsibility for incoming functions of chasing clients and resolving queries until final execution of the legally binding confirmation. The team will cover a variety of products and adhere to the regulatory commitments which govern the derivatives industry. The team will support across class derivative products; however will initially focus on Interest Rate and Foreign Exchange Derivatives confirmations. The role will provide the opportunity to rotate through various functions within the team, learning all products covered by the team and performing various additional ad-hoc roles from system testing to client interaction.

Main Duties The role holder will take ownership of a portfolio of clients; building strong relationships with the relevant client contacts and ensuring that confirmations are received and review in a timely manner and executed within 30 days of trade date. The role holder will proactively liaise with Sales, Trading, Legal, Operations Client Service (OCS) and external counterparts in order to resolve queries identified. They will work closely with the Outgoing Team to ensure all amendments to confirmations are executed in a timely manner and that the client’s expectations are managed at all times. They will ensure internal systems are kept updated with the latest status of unconfirmed trades with clear and concise comments at all times. The role holder will escalate aged unconfirmed items in accordance with policies and procedures and chase non-received confirmations. The role holder will be involved in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system enhancements and releases.

There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.

Key clients (internal and external)

The role holder will have a significant number of internal key clients, including Traders, Sales Teams, Middle Office, Legal, Compliance, Credit, Client Service and other Operational functions. Externally, on a day-to-day basis the role holder will be interacting with clients.
