The International Retail Business works in partnership with clients across EMEA, Asia Pacific, Australia, Latin America and Japan. Clients include retail and private banks, insurance companies, financial advisor networks and distribution platforms.

The International Retail Business is supported by 24 offices and cross channel functional teams which serve clients in 40 countries.

The product range includes open-ended funds, closed-ended funds and alternative investments as well as sub-advisory mandates and separate accounts. The flagship Luxembourg-domiciled BlackRock Global Funds (BGF) is distributed across 36 countries and includes a broad range of equity, fixed income, balanced and cash funds. Separately, there are domestic fund ranges in the UK, Japan and Australia.

Job Summary:
The UK Business Support team sits within the EMEA Retail Business supporting the UK Retail Sales team and our clients who invest in BlackRock’s products. The UK Business support team is aligned to the sales team structure and comprises 22 individuals across three teams who support a specific sales channel.

The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for handling all queries from our clients and our Sales team in relation to client accounts, the products that they are invested in, setting up of legal agreements, completing RFIs/fund questionnaires, coordinating the set up and funding of sub-advised or separate accounts and essentially managing client relationships. They will also be required to coordinate and attend client meetings and they will be expected to work closely with our Transfer Agent, Business Operations, Product, Legal and Compliance.

Key responsibilities:
To ensure a variety of client queries are handled with due care and attention and responded within the agreed time frame, and always with consideration of the client’s needs and expectations

Partner with the sales team on developing solutions for our clients and managing relationships

Complete RFIs and fund questionnaires in a professional, accurate and timely manner

Set up and coordinate legal agreements between BlackRock and the client, ensuring correct terms are in place

To be the primary point of contact for clients who appoint BlackRock to manage their Retail funds on a sub-advised basis or oversee their segregated portfolios

Liaise with internal teams and the transfer agent to ensure client queries are being resolved

Review complaints drafted by the transfer agent and prepare for sign off, respond to any performance/product/brand related complaints

Liaise with transfer agent on client contact queries and any changes to funds and products etc.

Produce daily/monthly statistics for the team

Experience & skills:
The candidate will be an individual with at least 2 years financial services experiences ideally within a Business Support or client service function

A highly motivated individual who demonstrates drive and determination, is willing to learn, innovate and improve existing processes

A team player who has an enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude

Demonstrates an investigative nature and show willing to go the extra mile for clients

Illustrates strong organisational skills, ideally with experience in project management, with the ability to control own priorities and meet deadlines

Excellent attention to detail is essential, as well as possessing strong written and verbal communication skills

Exhibits a client-focused attitude and be dedicated to offering the highest level of client service

A confident person who enjoys investigative work, can multitask with ease and is comfortable speaking with colleagues and clients at all levels

Development opportunity:
The UK Business Support Team is central to servicing all BlackRock products that Retails clients invest in and therefore the candidate has an excellent opportunity to learn the Retail Business from the grass roots upwards

Our team acts as a central contact point for all Retail client contact queries and issues, therefore great opportunities exist to interact with for other departments such as Legal, Compliance, PMG, Product and Business Operations and gain a wealth of knowledge about the workings of BlackRock, its position in the market and the wide range of products that we manage
