Role: Editor for a consumer web site.
Who We Are: We are a consumer information and market research site, covering personal finance, home telecoms and shopping.
We are looking for a new editor to manage our consumer guide, and to take an active role participating in industry comment and debate.
Tasks will include researching topics, writing articles on site, pitching to and writing for other leading industry websites, and managing the existing site content - including updating articles.
You will also be managing a small team of freelance writers and be responsible for assigning articles and editing submissions before publication.
As a small team there will be various opportunity and requirement to get involved with other projects and tasks, from ensuring data accuracy to marketing and social media management.
You will have an excellent and demonstrable written ability, with experience in creating commentary and debate.
You will be adaptable to writing to our in-house style and be able to follow set procedures. You will need to be able to write clearly, succinctly and with interest. An ability to explain complex information in an easy to understand way is a must.
You will enjoy being part of a team, having good communication skills and able to work on collaborative tasks, as well as be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
You will be interested in consumer topics such as consumer rights, politics and policy, ethics, personal finance and consumer technology.
Location: Hove. Potential for flexibility.
- Experience of writing online articles for magazines or newspapers.
- An ability to write clearly, succinctly and with interest. An ability to explain complex information in an easy to understand way.
- Have an adaptable writing style.
- A high attention to detail and high level of accuracy is a must.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic HTML.
- Web media (videos, social media).
Hours: Full time. 37.5 hour week.
