BULLHORN REF: 1216 JOB TITLE: Internal Auditor Manager SECTOR: Financial Services/Spread bet / Brokerage LOCATION: London/City SALARY: £50,000 - £60,000 Bonus and Benefits An opportunity for senior internal Auditor has arisen in one of the worlds leading spread betting / Brokerage firms. Based in Central London the firm operates on a global scale with offices in the major cities of Europe, Asia and the Americas with their HQ in London and are an established member of the FTSE 250. The internal auditor is responsible for the delivery of the internal audits within the risk based internal audit plan and for the whole of the Group with particular focus on Europe. The development and implementation of the three year rolling RBIA plan will be done in conjunction the Head of Internal Audit.
Key responsibilities: The internal auditor will work closely with the Head of Internal Audit (HIA) for the implementation of the risk based internal audit (RBIA) plan including audits of risk categories, processes, products, IT, business areas and overseas offices. This will involve regular travel (approximately 20%) to their European offices, which are currently in Germany, France, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands. When working on each internal audit the internal auditors responsibilities include performing audit planning, undertaking sufficient fieldwork to identify risks, internal controls and to test internal controls then to report on the audit opinion of the area under review and to raise any control weaknesses/areas for improvement. The internal auditor will report to the HIA at key stages of each internal audit to allow the HIA to review the progress and results of each internal audit.
The internal auditor is responsible for following up on the implementation of audit recommendations contained within audit reports and reporting on progress to the HIA every six months. The internal auditor will liaise with other assurance functions including Risk Management, Compliance, Legal and Company Secretariat as and when required, particularly for European offices. The internal auditor will liaise with the external auditors as appropriate, particularly for European offices. The internal auditor will assist the HIA with project work which is within the scope of independence and objectivity of the internal audit function. Candidate requirements: Degree level education and appropriate post-qualification degree / membership of an appropriate Audit body. Accountancy and/or Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Qualification is desirable Significant experience in working within internal audit department Significant experience in working within a complex middle to large corporate structure. The internal auditor should be familiar with the regulatory environment of financial services companies
