Marketing Manager - Oncology Merck Serono -

In this role you will have responsibility for the development and implementation of a competitive, strategic Oncology marketing plan for the UK and Republic of Ireland. Due to the establishment of the Cancer Drug Fund, this part of the business has fantastic growth opportunity and will require an innovative approach to marketing and a solid background within a niche therapy area.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Development and execution of an innovative and ongoing marketing strategy plan for the Oncology business, focusing geographically across the UK and ROI, and taking into account the Cancer Drug Fund where geographically relevant
Interfacing with the Corporate Oncology team to build relationships and ensure the UK’s involvement in relevant projects
Development of marketing materials, programmes and tools
Management of external creative, marketing, medical education and PR agencies
Partnering with Patient Groups in the development of advocacy programmes
Development and management of Key Thought Leader plans, ensuring alignment with other internal departments
Regular travel around with UK and some international travel to HQ and appropriate conferences
To comply with all UK regulatory guidelines and company SOPs in relation to the ABPI Code of Practice, IPHA, MHRA or other authorities as relevant to the position
Qualifications / Experience
Degree (or equivalent) is essential with additional Marketing qualifications as highly desirable
Strong background in pharmaceutical Product Marketing across the secondary care environment – low volume high cost model
Hands on experience and knowledge of the NHS is essential, ideally with a background across sales into NHS
Experience in development and management of thought leader advocates
Ability / willingness to travel within the UK and internationally for meetings / conferences
