Graduate/Junior Engineer - Vertical Transportation/Lift
This companys team of vertical transportation engineers deliver specialist advice in the field of lift and escalator designs for high profile buildings of all types, in locations all around the world. We are looking for an assistant engineer to join our team and develop a long term career with us in this high profile discipline.
Outline of role
Working as part of an established, supportive and friendly team you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to provide specialist design advice on all aspects of lift and escalator design.
Specifically you will -
Represent the company at Client and design team meetings
Produce lift and escalator layout drawings
Author technical reports and briefing notes
Carry out lift traffic analysis calculations
Draft performance specifications
Monitor and witness test works on site
Be responsible for the departments quality compliance
This is an exciting opportunity to work in this specialist field on some of the most prestigious projects in the UK and around the world. Current and recent projects include:
Minimum of HND/HNC/ONC in lift engineering or equivalent fields
Lift industry apprenticeship would be an advantage.
You will probably be currently working for a major lift manufacturer, ideally in a sales engineering role, or in an associated building services design environment. You will ideally have some experience in this field.
You will be computer literate, suitably skilled in the use of CAD software (ideally in both AutoDesk AutoCAD and Bentley Microstation / Powerdraft), and have familiarity with a broad range of vertical transportation equipment, technical specifications and current lift codes and standards.
A working knowledge of Autodesk Revit would be beneficial as would experience with Elevate traffic analysis software.
Knowledge of associated facade access equipment design would also be advantageous.
