**Please note anyone further away than 40 miles from DL10 will be just too far away for us** Objective The successful engineer will have responsibility for the competent maintenance of fire alarm systems & emergency lighting systems – all to the relevant British Standard. In addition, the engineer is required to competently install fire alarm systems, emergency lighting systems – to the relevant British Standards Accountable to: The Operations Manager (or MD in his absence) Responsible for
Routine maintenance activities
Service report write ups
Stock ordering & stock taking
Working relationships
Liaising with other engineers and clients to ensure smooth
operation of the production schedule
Closely working with the Operations Manager
Liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors Key Tasks
Maintenance of fire alarm systems (conventional & addressable) – particularly Gent Vigilon, Kentec, Menvier, Protec
Maintenance of emergency lighting units
Maintenance of smoke vents
Installation of fire alarm systems, emergency lighting systems
PAT testing
Remedial maintenance work (replace & repair)
Fault finding
Responding to call outs
Completing service reports
Dealing with subcontractors
Job Requirements
Attending training courses
Client liason
Keeping the company vehicles in a clean state
Work away from home when required (1 per month min.)
Core skills
16th or 17th Edition IEE Regulations
Have an existing understanding of specialised fire safety systems
FIA or equivalent completed training courses for fire alarms, emergency lighting
