The appointment will be on UCL Grade 6. The salary range will be £27,796 - £29,318 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
Duties and Responsibilities: A Research Assistant is required to work for Professor S. Zeki of the Laboratory of Neurobiology website: http// www.vislab.ucl.ac.uk Candidates should have a general scientific background and also an interest in the arts. They should be able to help in researching topics in the library, preparing scientific papers for publication, preparing presentations for seminars and lectures and should undertake general office duties in connection with running the laboratory.
The work is supported by the Wellcome Trust. The position will be available immediately and the funding is available until 28 February 2013 in the first instance.
Key Requirements: The candidate must be proficient in spoken and written English. The main interests of the laboratory encompass all aspects of perception via the human brain with a strong emphasis on vision, emotion and the aesthetic realm of conscious experience. A certain degree of artistic flair would therefore be an advantage.
