ROLE OUTLINE:
A Geotechnical Engineer is required to join the Geoenvironmental Capability to be based in Leeds. The successful individual will form part of a busy team in a vibrant office with plenty of scope to develop their career. Working across the Geotechnical Design, Site Investigation, and Geoenvironmental teams, this will be a varied role with scope for progression and experience across a wide client base.
They will be expected to be fully involved in all aspects of allocated projects, from the initial pricing and proposals, resource allocation and management through to reporting, design and sign off.
The role is client facing, and as such an amount of business development will make up the working week.
Duties will include the following:
Scoping of geotechnical and environmental investigations
Project Management and Site Supervision
Communicate effectively with clients and contactors
Lab test scheduling and interpretation
Compile factual and interpretative reports
Geotechnical assessment / design
Compile earthworks specifications
Financial control of projects and fee estimation
Business Development

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential
A relevant amount of experience of Site Investigation and ideally be working towards Chartered status and experienced in the following areas:
A degree in BSc (Hons) in Engineering Geology, BEng / MEng Civil Engineering or a relevant environmental discipline are required
Desk studies
Intrusive Investigation Techniques
Logging soils and rocks to BS5930
SI design and management in the UK
Geotechnical Design
Contaminated Land/Brownfield investigations and remediation experience preferably
Interpretative reporting
Monitoring and sampling protocols
Use or knowledge of Holebase III and Digital AGS data Production
Scheduling and testing to BS1377
Design Risk Assessment
