This role is to assist and support the Access to HE Manager in providing a professional and effective first point of contact service for prospective students and a wide range of external enquirers.
Providing an efficient enquiry and information service the role will deliver the highest standards of customer service when dealing with enquiries by telephone (inbound and outbound), in person, using the CRM system or by email, provide accurate and up to date information to prospective students and other customers relating to university programmes, entry requirements, fees, student services etc.
Additionally, the role includes assisting with administrative duties including supporting the CRM system, scholarships, inbound and outbound sales, student recruitment and marketing communications. Providing flexible administrative support the role includes collecting and maintaining accurate statistical data and supporting the team by maintaining and filing all records systems, composing letters and emails, photocopying, archiving etc.
The role includes attendance at events to provide potential students with accurate information on scholarships, university programmes and entry requirements.
The successful candidate will be educated GCSE level holding a Grade C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent). They will be able to demonstrate a minimum of one year experience of working within a customer service focussed or student support environment, have current experience of using a range of IT software including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and be familiar with the use and interrogation of databases. The post holder will be able to use their own initiative and have a demonstrable understanding and/or experience of Higher Education.
Previous experience of working within an office environment within a Higher Education setting is desirable as is holding a Customer Service and/or an Information, Advice and Guidance qualification.
Flexibility in relation to working hours is essential with some occasional evening and weekend work expected during key recruitment periods. We welcome applications from recent University of Sunderland Graduates.
The successful candidate will require Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Clearance to carry out this role.
