An experienced Mechanical Design Engineer is required by our North Norfolk client to work at their headquarters near Cromer. Our client operates a modern, small batch production manufacturing facility producing agricultural machinery, which is exported across the world. The products are manufactured at their Norfolk headquarters and distributed from there. The sophisticated manufacturing equipment includes CNC machine centres and laser steel cutting machines. Most of the products currently manufactured originated in their own design office and have been evolved and improved. Manufacturing is done in house including all machining and gear cutting. The company's remarkable achievement over many years is in no small part down to their philosophy of using the best technology available to produce technologically advanced, top quality, highly durable farm machinery.
Our client is currently looking to add to its Design & Development Team and is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer used to designing in a similar environment. A knowledge and understanding of agriculture and agricultural equipment is considered extremely important by our client together with a lifelong passion for mechanical and hydraulic engineering. You will have a mechanical engineering degree or HND and your CAD experience will necessarily be using Co-Create Drafting (formerly HPME10) software. Nothing else is acceptable, as it will indicate that you do not have the right background. You design background will ideally be agricultural. The ability to understand legislative requirements are also considered important for the role. Communications skills are essential and will be fully tested on a daily basis.
In summary, to be considered for this role, your CV should clearly identify:
1) Mechanical Engineering degree or minimum of HND.
2) At least 3 years real commercial 3D design experience. This is not a role for a graduate with no experience.
3) An agricultural background. Brought up on a farm, worked on a farm, working with agricultural machines.
4) 3D modelling software experience. Co-Create Drafting (formerly HPME10).
If you are ticking the boxes and want the opportunity to join a company that is successful and shares that success with its people then we would like to see your CV. It would also be extremely beneficial to your application if you were to send a sample of your work that showcases your ability in relation to this role. The role has an excellent, negotiable starting package with the opportunity to advance your career in the coming years.
