Join Accenture, one of the leading technology and outsourcing companies in the world. We're currently delivering an IT service to our insurance client and would love you to join us as a Database Administrator. If you want to develop in a technical career and you're interested programming and solving technical IT problems, this role is for you. Initially you will be providing support for Mainframe computer systems, but this will likely expand in the longer term.
Key activities:
Supporting databases across a number of test environments and mainframes
Assisting in the database design process
Monitoring the database and operating systems to identify potential problems
Analysis of a wide variety of problems experienced by application developers and by users and proposing solutions to resolve these problems
Implementing some of those solutions
Setting up scripts for other teams to run and supporting them when they do so
Skills you will learn:
DB2 for z/OS DBA Knowledge
DB2 Utilities
DB2 SQL
Use of DB2 Explain and understanding of access paths and the impact of DB2 Runstats
JCL ( Job Control Language )
OPC Scheduling support
REXX Programming
ISPF PDF Edit Commands and Macros
Good overview of the z/OS Operating System
Use of tools such as Omegamon and Query Monitor to monitor the system
Use of software such as DFSORT, File Manager
Use of system resources such as SYSLOG and SMF to identify and diagnose problems
SQL Replication
IMS DBA
Qualifications
