Serco UK & Europe are concluding their contract to provide Services to Ministry of Defence in Gibraltar in February 2013. We have a requirement to recruit a Building and Civil Engineering Technical Officer on a Fixed Term basis to support the timely and professional demobilisation of the Contract.
The B&CE Technical Officer will support the Transition Manager in the effective closure and completion of all outstanding minor and major works tasks in conjunction with the appointed Mechanical and Electrical Technical Officer
Attend progress meetings and handovers, as required.
Timely and accurate processing of invoices for works under your control.
Carry out monitoring and site inspections for works under your control.
Raise, control and monitor documentation for works within your area of responsibility.
Prepare technical reports as and when required.
Ensure completion of all works, tasks, and other duties allocated to you within given time limits.
Maintain UK best practice as per appropriate relevant legislation, including all current regulations, Building Regulations, MOD Joint Service Publications (JSP), Company Operational Procedures and Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007 (CDM).
Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety requirements
Participate and assist in operating and maintaining a Safe System of Work in appropriate disciplines.
Participate in the timely completion of reporting requirements to Defence Infrastructure Organisation within your allocated responsibilities.
Provide assistance in all other required areas of the contract, where deemed competent.
Essential skills
ONC in a Construction related discipline (Building, Civil Engineering), or equivalent
Wide ranging practical task management experience in a B&CE role.
IT Literate in Word, Excel
Experience of Computer Based Facilities Management systems
