Salary £13353 to £15151 per annum Centre for Biomolecular Sciences CBS Support Assistant £13,353 – 15,151 per annum depending on skils and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance. The Centre for Biomolecular Sciences requires an organised and flexible individual to provide day to day technical assistance, within a varied and interesting environment, to service and support the requirements of the Centre. The role will also require the flexibility to cover for other Centre Support staff, at a similar level e.g.

Reception, Purchasing: full training will be given. Duties will include provision of a solvent and dry ice delivery service to laboratories, disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, daily lunchtime cover for Reception, providing cover for day to day operation of glass washing and media preparation areas and other general duties to support the Centre. Candidates should have GCSEs or equivalent, together with proven experience in a relevant role or work experience in a relevant role. Candidates should have good organisational skills, be able to prioritise work and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and students.

A basic understanding of COSHH and safety related issues is desirable. Knowledge and experience of Agresso will be an advantage. Hours of work will be 36.25 per week, Monday to Friday; actual times to be agreed. Informal enquiries may be addressed to Mrs Carole White, tel: 0115 951 3416.
