In order to build on the capability within the Semiconductor / Flat Panel Display Group we are looking to recruit for our Development Engineering team at the Shoreham site.
Purpose of this Position
The purpose of the position is the development and test of new and innovative designs for deployment in vacuum pumping systems. In support of this would be the ability to create and manage test specifications and programmes to insure that designs are fit for purpose and comply with relevant customer and legislative standards. This will require an organised approach to the analysis and presentation of data involving the generation of conclusions and where appropriate recommendations for improvement in the design/process.
Reporting line is to the Technical/Project Manager with reporting lines to the position from development engineers and technicians.
An understanding of the design of rotating machines would be an advantage as would be experience in the following areas; heat transfer, rotating element bearings, lubrication systems, and vacuum technology. These disciplines would be ideal, although are not a prerequisite if the candidate can demonstrate a record of creative achievement in a general engineering context. The candidate should be IT literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Experience of DFA/M, D/PFMEA, APQP and other development tools and the requirements of BS EN61010 and Semi S2 would be a further advantage.
The candidate must be highly motivated, self-starting individual, able to contribute effectively within a flat organisational structure. Early assumption of responsibility for all aspects of product development and testing can be expected. Scope of responsibility will be from concept through collaboration with development colleagues on verification through to validation of design in support of market introduction.
