We’re currently recruiting two Assistant Production Unit managers, one for Oil Movements and one for Chemicals (Alcohols), to join the the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex. As one of the Assistant Production Unit managers of the Stanlow Manufacturing process, you’ll be required to support the Production Unit Manager in the day-to-day sustainable operation of the unit i.e. delivering the production plan (volume and quality) while achieving HSSE and cost leadership excellence. You are accountable for driving operational excellence within the Production Unit. This comprises driving further improvements in the existing site work processes like Maintenance Execution, Ensure Safe Production, Risk Based Inspection, Reliability Centered Maintenance and Production Plan Delivery. Specifically, you ‘ll be expected to:
Monitor and optimise the unit performance and operating conditions on a daily basis.
Interface effectively with other departments, such as Maintenance, Technology, Engineering, Refinery Scheduling, HSSE, Projects and Finance.
Investigate Incidents and Equipment Failures.
Manage Chemicals, catalyst and operating material costs.
Work closely together with shift teams.
Review plant changes.
With a degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent, you’ll have proven technical skills and a track record in analysing problems and delivering results. You’ll have significant experience as a process engineer or as a process technologist in Refinery or Manufacturing. Depth of experience in one or more Petrochemical unit operations would be an advantage. Working in a dynamic and challenging operating environment you’ll need to have strong interpersonal skills, be effective in multi-disciplinary teams and be able to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of initiative and independence. Understanding of business prerequisites and processes as well as a drive towards operational excellence are essential.
Applicants should be aware that the long-term ownership options are being considered for the Stanlow site, which could include the sale of the refinery. If a deal is pursued, the refinery would be sold as a going concern.
